Meet the people behind the training
Our trainers are more than qualified — they're experienced professionals who understand the real-world demands of disability and aged care. Many have lived the work themselves.
Registered Nurses
Clinical backgrounds with extensive aged care and disability support experience.
Physiotherapists
Movement specialists with expertise in manual handling and injury prevention.
Community Workers
On-the-ground sector experience informing practical, relevant training delivery.
Lived Experience
Trainers with personal disability experience, giving authentic voice to those supported.
Craig Curtis
One of Consider Care's longest-serving and most valued trainers, Craig brings something rare and irreplaceable to every session: the authentic perspective of someone who lives with a disability.
Craig has paraplegia and uses a wheelchair — experiences he weaves naturally and powerfully into his training. His classes are consistently described as relaxed, fun, and enlightening. He meets every student where they are, providing support regardless of background or prior experience.
"Craig gives a voice and perspective for the people with a disability they support. His personal examples bring the training to life in a way no textbook ever could."
When Craig disclosed his disability during hiring at Consider Care, it was treated as entirely irrelevant to his capability — a reflection of the values we live by.
Craig's teaching style ensures every student feels respected, supported, and able to fully engage with the material.
What we look for in every trainer
Every Consider Care trainer is selected not just for their qualifications, but for their ability to connect with learners and translate expertise into practical change.
Sector Credibility
Trainers must have genuine, substantial experience working in disability, aged care, or a related clinical field. Theory is supported by practice.
Qualification
All instructors hold relevant professional qualifications — Registered Nursing credentials, allied health degrees, or equivalent health education specialist experience.
Participant Focus
Our trainers adapt to every room. Whether participants are experienced practitioners or complete newcomers, sessions are calibrated to ensure everyone benefits.
Inclusive Practice
We actively value diversity of background and perspective in our team — including lived experience of disability — because it makes our training richer and more authentic.
