Course Overview
This course equips support workers and care facility staff with the foundational knowledge and practical skills to respond effectively in life-threatening emergencies. Participants learn and practise the DRSABCD action plan, CPR, defibrillator use, rescue breathing, and choking response. This training is aligned with current Australian Resuscitation Council guidelines.

Learning Outcomes
Upon completing this course, participants will be able to:
- Recognise a life-threatening emergency and activate the emergency response chain
- Apply the DRSABCD action plan in a simulated emergency
- Perform CPR on adults, children, and infants to current guidelines
- Operate an Automated External Defibrillator (AED) safely
- Perform rescue breathing and use a Bag Valve Mask (BVM)
- Respond to choking in adults and children

Practical capability assessment through hands-on demonstration and verbal questioning.
